More than 500 European mayors are committing today to cut CO2 emissions by more than 20% by 2020. By signing the Covenant of Mayors, they pledge to save energy, foster renewable energy and raise awareness among their citizens. The Covenant of Mayors, an annual conference initiated by the European Commission in 2009, has already more than 1600 signatories in 36 countries representing 120 million citizens. 

 

I think climate change, yes, is a global problem, but I am not sure having globally synchronized plan is easy to gain and undertake. I think maybe some regional strategies are going to work better than the global ones as we need some similarities when we talk about different countries.
