ایندین اکسپرس از قول بیل گیتس در جلسه ی "بازتعریف توسعه ی پایدار" در حاشیه اجلاس جهانی اقتصاد نوشت:  مسائل تغییرات اقلیمی را نمی توان از طریق درخواست از ملت های فقیر برای کاهش مصرفشان حل کرد. شما نمی توانید از آن ها بخواهید که از مصرف مواد غذایی اشان کم کنند تا از این طریق انتشار گازهای گلخانه ای را کاهش دهید و نمی توانید شرایط عادلانه ای را در دنیا برقرار کنید اگر از آن ها بخواهید که انرژی کمتری مصرف کنند.

وی همچنین از عدم حمایت مالی کافی از نوآوری به منظور حل بحران انرژی انتقاد کرد و بر این نکته تاکید کرد که نوآوری کلید حل مشکلات پیش رو در این حوزه است. وی همچنین اظهار داشت: کاهش رشد جمعیت و توجه بیشتر به مقوله ی سلامت اثرات بسیار چشمگیرتری نسبت به طرح های مرسوم کاهش انرژی در پی خواهد داشت.

دوم، برایتان گفتم که سیل های استرالیا را به طور مستقیم با تغییرات اقلیمی مرتبط ندانسته اند. اما ظاهرا دانسته اند. این هم جزییات بیشترش.

سوم، خبری با عنوان بررسی تاثیر تغییرات اقلیم در سازه های ساحلی  که اینجا جزییاتش را بخوانید.

چهارم، رئیس سازمان جنگلها و مراتع و آبخیزداری کشور بی توجهی انسان به منابع طبیعی را عامل اصلی تغییرات آب و هوایی و آلودگی های زیست محیطی عنوان کرد. اینجا.

کمی از خبر اول:

یمی از دانشمندان موسسه تحقیقات فدرال سوئیس در زوریخ به سرپرستی "اولف بونتگن" از ۹ هزار صنایع دستی بر روی چوب که ۲ هزار و ۵۰۰ سال قبل ساخته شده اند به عنوان یک ابزار تحقیقاتی استفاده کردند.

این محققان با مشاهده و حالت حفظ این اشیاء نشان دادند که بین تاریخ تمدن گذشته و تغییرات ناگهانی آب و هوا ارتباط وجود دارد.

به خصوص، این دانشمندان دریافتند که دوره های با تابستانهای گرم و مرطوب با فازهای رشد و شکوفایی منطبق بوده درحالی که در طول فازهای با شرایط جوی ناپایدار اغتشاشهای سیاسی بسیاری در امپراتوری رم در گرفته است.

"اولف بونتگن" در این خصوص توضیح داد: "با نگاه به قرون گذشته می توان نمونه هایی پیدا کرد که در آنها تغییرات آب و هوایی تاثیرات قابل توجهی بر روی تاریخ بشر برجای گذاشته اند."

به گزارش رسانه ایران ،متیو اِنگلند از مرکز تحقیقات آب و هوایی در دانشگاه نیو ساوت ولز در این باره گفت :  دمای آب های سواحل استرالیا به بیشترین حد در دوازده ماه رسیده؛ تبخیر این آبها عامل بارشهای موسمی در کوئینزلند و شمال استرالیا است. 

در این حال دانشمندان اعلام کردند، تغییر الگوهای آب و هوایی ، احتمالا شدیدتر شدن سیلها و خشکسالیها را در پی خواهد داشت؛ تغییر این الگوهای آب و هوایی می تواند به دگرگونی وضعیت آب و هوا در سراسر جهان منجر شود. پدیده لانینا کاهش دمای آبهای شرق و مرکز اقیانوس آرام است که بر شدت بادهای شرقی در منطقه استوایی می افزاید.

این بادها سبب می شوند آبهای گرم در غرب اقیانوس آرام و در سواحل استرالیا انباشته شوند که این وضعیت عموما به بارشهای شدیدتر در استرالیا، اندونزی و دیگر مناطق جنوب شرق آسیا منجر خواهد شد. پدیده ال نینو نیز تاثیری متفاوت با لا نینا دارد و به خشکسالی در استرالیا و جنوب شرق آسیا منجر می شود. آب و هوای منطقه اقیانوس آرام از دیر باز بین دو پدیده لا نینا و ال نینو متغیر بوده است.

Asia-Europe Meeting on Climate Change Opens in Vietnam

The Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) on Climate Change opened on Monday in Vietnam's northern province of Quang Ninh, Vietnam News Agency reported.

The two-day meeting, hosted by Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, drew more than 150 representatives from Vietnam, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Britain, Spain, South Korea, Japan, India, Australia and Indonesia among others.

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha said at the meeting that Vietnam is one of the countries that are hardest hit by climate change.

Climate change is a challenge to Vietnam's goal of poverty reduction and elimination and sustainable development.

With full awareness of this problem, Vietnam is actively joining in regional and global efforts to combat climate change. The country has ratified the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Kyoto Protocol, said Ha.

The meeting provides a chance to discuss measures to effectively implement the Vietnamese government's Action Programme on the Development of Vietnam-European Union (EU) Relations until 2010 and Orientations to 2015, especially in the area of natural resources and environment.

Through this mechanism, EU and its members will share experience with Vietnam in combating climate change and assist Vietnam in adaptation to climate change, said the report.

During the meeting, representatives will discuss the impacts of climate change, opportunities and challenges to the low-carbon economies and ASEM cooperation among global efforts to create recommendations and initiatives to cope with climate change, according to the report.

امروز مطلبی را در میان اخبار و وبلاگ های گوگل اینجا دیدم که در مورد سبز شدن حج است. ظاهرا گروهی از فعالان حوزه ی محیط زیست در تلاش هستند تا زمینه کاهش آلودگی محیط زیست و انتشار دی اکسید کربن را در طی مراسم حج فراهم کنند. در این زمینه می توانید این لینک و این لینک را مشاهده کنید. سخنگوی دولت عربستان هم بیان داشته است که "سخنان رهبران و فعالان محیط زیست را جدی می گیرد و در پی پیاده سازی برخی طرح ها و پیشنهادها است، تغییر برداشت های مردم دشوار است اما محیط زیست بسیار با اهمیت است."

ظاهرا دولت عربستان طرح هایی هم برای استفاده از انرژی خورشیدی در مساجد و هتل های شهرهای مکه و مدینه دارد تا از این طریق ردپای کربنی حاجیان را کاهش دهد.

A Saudi government spokesman told The Media Line that the government believes there is much work to be done to bring awareness of environmental issues to the Hajj.

“The activists and Muslim leaders who are calling for combining faith with environmental protection are important and we are taking their ideas and statements seriously, and the Saudi government is looking at implementing a number of new policies that will help this be achieved,” the government spokesman said.

Some of these policies include using biodegradable materials for Hajj travelers and teaching seminars that embrace environmentalism within the Islamic faith.

“It is hard to change people’s perceptions, but it is vital that with these calls, we understand that there are people out there willing to make a stand. The environment is extremely important,” added the spokesman.

He pointed out that in Mecca and Medina, the two holiest cities in Islam, the Saudi government has drawn up plans that could see solar energy being used to power mosques, hotels and banquet areas. “This would help reduce the environmental imprint of the Hajj,” the spokesman said.

Following in the Moroccan government’s footsteps, Saudi Arabia could become a leader for environmental policy on the grassroots level, said Tunisian-French environmentalist Nour Michel. She believes that only through education can the Middle East show the world that these issues are serious.

350 parts per million is what many scientists, climate experts, and progressive national governments are now saying is the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere.

Accelerating arctic warming and other early climate impacts have led scientists to conclude that we are already above the safe zone at our current 390ppm, and that unless we are able to rapidly return to 350 ppm this century, we risk reaching tipping points and irreversible impacts such as the melting of the Greenland ice sheet and major methane releases from increased permafrost melt.

There are three numbers you need to really understand global warming, 275, 390, and 350.

For all of human history until about 200 years ago, our atmosphere contained 275 parts per million of carbon dioxide. Parts per million is simply a way of measuring the concentration of different gases, and means the ratio of the number of carbon dioxide molecules per million other molecules in the atmosphere. 275 ppm CO2 is a useful amount—without some CO2 and other greenhouse gases that trap heat in our atmosphere, our planet would be too cold for humans to inhabit.

So we need some carbon in the atmosphere, but the question is how much?

Beginning in the 18th century, humans began to burn coal and gas and oil to produce energy and goods. The amount of carbon in the atmosphere began to rise, at first slowly and now more quickly. Many of the activities we do every day like turning the lights on, cooking food, or heating or cooling our homes rely on energy sources like coal and oil that emit carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases into the atmosphere. We're taking millions of years worth of carbon, stored beneath the earth as fossil fuels, and releasing it into the atmosphere. By now—and this is the second number—the planet has 390 parts per million CO2 – and this number is rising by about 2 parts per million every year.

Scientists are now saying that's too much – that number is higher than any time seen in the recorded history of our planet – and we're already beginning to see disastrous impacts on people and places all over the world. Glaciers everywhere are melting and disappearing fast—and they are a source of drinking water for hundreds of millions of people. Mosquitoes, who like a warmer world, are spreading into lots of new places, and bringing malaria and dengue fever with them. Drought is becoming much more common, making food harder to grow in many places. Sea levels have begun to rise, and scientists warn that they could go up as much as several meters this century. If that happens, many of the world's cities, island nations, and farmland will be underwater. The oceans are growing more acidic because of the CO2 they are absorbing, which makes it harder for animals like corals and clams to build and maintain their shells and skeletons. Coral reefs could start dissolving at an atmospheric CO2 concentration of 450-500 ppm. These impacts are combining to exacerbate conflicts and security issues in already resource-strapped regions.

هدف از نگارش این یادداشت اطلاع رسانی پیرامون یک حرکت جهانی است که حدود بیست روز دیگر در کشورهای مختلف دنیا به انجام می رسد. در 24 اکتبر سال جاری مصادف با شنبه دوم آبان ماه تشکل های مختلف محیط زیستی در سراسر دنیا در یک اقدام هماهنگ و همزمان تلاش خواهند نمود تا مردم جهان را نسبت به خطر تغییرات آب و هوا و اقلیم و پیامدهای تخریب محیط زیست اگاه کنند. این حرکت که توسط بسیاری از دانشمندان، کارشناسان و دولتمردان در سراسر دنیا حمایت می شود فرصت مناسبی است تا زمینه آگاه کردن مردم جهان از اثرات مخرب نابودی محیط زیست فراهم شود. تا کنون تشکل های متعددی از بیش از صد کشور جهان در این زمینه اعلام آمادگی کرده اند اما متاسفانه این حرکت به طور صحیحی در ایران اطلاع رسانی نشده است. روش اجرای این حرکت بسیار ساده است. کافی است تشکل شما در روز مورد نظر یک برنامه ساده مانند پیاده روی؛ جمع اوری زباله از محیط زیست، برگزاری یک کلاس آموزشی کوچک، دوچرخه سواری، برنامه های ساده دانشجویی یا حرکت های هنری مثل نمایشگاه نقاشی باشد. همکاری شما در این طرح باعث ارتقاء جایگاه تشکل های ایرانی در زمینه فعالیت های محیط زیستی خواهد شد و فرصت خوبی است تا ارتباط شما با سایر تشکل ها تقویت شود. برای کسب اطلاعات بیشتر می توانید به پایگاه اطلاع رسانی این حرکت در آدرس (www.350.org) مراجعه نمایید و یا با من تماس بگیرید تا زمینه ارتباط شما را با این حرکت فراهم کنم.

Dear Friends in Iran —

This is an invitation to help build a movement—to take one day and use it to stop the climate crisis.

We are a group of people from around the planet—young and old, scientists and writers and activists—who working together to mobilize our communities for a global day of action on the 24^th of October, less than a month away, to address the most common threat our world faces today – climate change.  All our actions that day will have a common message – a number, the most important number on earth: 350.

In January of 2008, one of the world's greatest climatologist—NASA’s James Hansen—and his team produced a landmark series of studies. They showed that if we let the amount of carbon in the atmosphere top 350 parts per million, we can’t have a planet “similar to the one on which civilization developed and to which life on earth is adapted.”

The bad news is we’re already past that number—we’re at 389 parts per million, which is why the Arctic is melting, why drought is spreading across the planet, why people are already dying from diseases like dengue fever and malaria occurring in places where they’ve never been seen before. 

The good news is that day by day, there are more and more scientists, economists, NGOs, and ordinary people coming together to voice their support for a global commitment to bet the world back below 350.  A global movement is building and uniting, to address this global crisis.

In the month to come here’s the plan, and we invite you to be a part: on 24 October, we need you to organize a creative action of some kind at an iconic place where you live, something that will make that most important number visible to everyone.  People in more than 1,500 communities around the globe have already announced plans—they’ll be planting 3,500 trees in Abikalike, Nigeria, and diving with 350 people underwater in the Maldives.  So far more than 120 nations are taking part, including one action registered in Tabriz, Iran—this is going to be the biggest day of grassroots action on global warming ever.  But we need it to be much larger—we need you, in your community, to take part.

Even amidst all the political smoke rising from the UN and the G20, the basic scientific facts that we're facing are shining through ever more clearly. Two days ago Nature magazine, in its lead article, reaffirmed 350 as one of the planet's central boundaries. That news is spreading everywhere--in the science press (here's an article from Scientific American) and in the world's most widely-read magazines--here's what Time just wrote:

Regarding climate change, for instance, Rockstrom proposes an atmospheric-carbon-concentration limit of no more than 350 parts per million (p.p.m.) — meaning no more than 350 atoms of carbon for every million atoms of air. (Before the industrial age, levels were at 280 p.p.m.; currently they're at 387 p.p.m. and rising.) That, scientists believe, should be enough to keep global temperatures from rising more than 2°C above pre-industrial levels, which should be safely below a climatic tipping point that could lead to the wide-scale melting of polar ice sheets, swamping coastal cities. "Transgressing these boundaries will increase the risk of irreversible climate change," writes Rockstrom.

روز حرکت جهانی بلاگرها در سراسر دنیا. این خبر تازه ای است از سایت 350 در مورد اقدامی هماهنگ در سراسر دنیا برای پانزده اکتبر سال جاری. برای کسب اطلاعات بیشتر می توانید به این مطلب مراجعه کنید و ویدئوی ذیل را مشاهده کنید. در این حرکت بلاگرها از سراسر جهان در جهت انجام یک حرکت سراسری تلاش خواهند کرد.

درخواست برای همکاری در یک حرکت ساده اما موثر

پیش از این در طی چند مطلب برایتان گفتم که متاسفانه ایرانیان حضور چندان موثری در حرکت های مرتبط با مبارزه با گرم شدن کره زمین ندارند. این در حالی است که ایران از بسیاری از جهات در میان کشورهایی است که در آینده نه چندان دور با بحران های قابل توجه و متعددی از پیامد گرم شدن کره زمین مواجه خواهد شد. یکی از حرکت هایی که به رهبری کوفی عنان دبیرکل سابق سازمان ملل در حال انجام است حرکتی است به نام "تیک تیک تیک". 

این نام به این معنا است که زمان در حال گذر است و از همین رو بایستی برای اتخاذ تصمیمات جدی در مورد اجرای عدالت در زمینه تغییرات آب و هوا تلاش کرد. کاری که می شود در این زمینه انجام داد و به نحوی جایگاه ایرانیان را در این حوزه نشان داد بسیار ساده است. از هر شهری از ایران که هستید به آدرس ذیل مراجعه کنید:

 در این سایت سه گزینه برای شما قرار داده شده است. آپلود فایل تصویری، ضبط از طریق وبکم و در نهایت قرار دادن پیام. ساده ترین گزینه ارسال یک پیام است. روی دکمه سمت راست کلیک کنید و وارد بخشی به صورت شکل دوم خواهید شد. 

ایمیل، نام، کشور و شهر خود را وارد کنید. حتی اگر در ایران نیستید نام یکی از شهرهای ایران را وارد کنید. بعد دکمه "Find me on Map" را بزنید. در مرحله بعد کادری باز می شود که جای تایپ سی حرف را دارد. به انگلیسی یا فینگلیش می توانید سی حرف در این قسمت وارد کنید. یک پیام ساده را در این بخش درج کنید. برای درج پیام آزاد هستید اما به طور طبیعی بهتر خواهد بود اگر مطلبی در رابطه با حمایت ایران در تلاش برای عدالت در زمینه آب و هوا باشد. در ساده ترین حالت می توانید شعار خود این حرکت یعنی همان "TckTckTck"تایپ کنید.

بعد از یک پردازش کوتاه ویدئوی شما به مجموعه اضافه خواهد شد. یک توصیه این است که صرفا به شهرهای بزرگ بسنده نکنید و حتی ترجیحا از سوی سایر شهرها هم پیام بگذارید. البته بی تردید اگر حوصله ضبط تصویر داشته باشید بسیار بهتر خواهد بود.  به طور معمول افراد در این قسمت کلمه تیک را می گویند و ضبط می کنند. نمونه های این حرکت در همان لینک بالا قابل مشاهده است.

کاری که گفتم بسیار ساده است و خیلی طول نخواهد کشید اما از نظر معرفی جامعه ایرانی به عنوان یک جامعه آگاه و فعال بسیار مفید خواهد بود.

هفتم دسامبر سال جاری میلادی رهبران حدود دویست کشور جهان در کنفرانس تغییر آب و هوا در دانمارک گرد هم می آیند تا برای سرنوشت کره زمین تصمیم بگیرند. بایستی این کنفرانس را به کنفرانس امید تبدیل کرد. هپنهاگن حرکتی برای یک آغاز تازه است. حرکتی با امید به اینکه ما می توانیم جامعه ای را شکل بدهیم که رهبران ما را به سمت اتخاذ تصمیمات درست هدایت کند. حرکتی که بر مبنای آن بتوانیم با حل مشکلات محیط زیستی امان بر مشکلات اقتصادی هم فائق آییم. هپنهاگن حرکتی برای تغییر است، تغییری که حضور ما به آن نیرو بخشیده است.

بر روی وب سایت هپنهاگن بخشی وجود دارد که مردم از سراسر جهان پیام های امیدواری خود را آنجا درج می کنند. توصیه می کنم به این بخش حتما سر بزنید.

On December 7, 2009, leaders from 192 countries will gather at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark to determine the fate of our planet. Let's turn Copenhagen into Hopenhagen. Hopenhagen is a movement, a moment and a chance at a new beginning. The hope that we can create a global community that will lead our leaders into making the right decisions. The hope that by solving our environmental crisis, we can solve our economic crisis at the same time. Hopenhagen is change – and that change will be powered by all of us.

با توجه به برگزاری کنفرانس آب و هوای سازمان ملل که در دانمارک برگزار خواهد شد، جامعه جهانی آب و هوا (World Climate Community) توسط شهر کپنهاگ دانمارک در ژوئن سال جاری میلادی راه اندازی شده است. این جامعه با همکاری سازمان های غیردولتی دانمارکی و مشارکت کنندگان و حامیان بخش خصوصی تشکیل شده است و به عنوان هدیه به مردم سراسر جهان تقدیم گشته است.

این جامعه در بخش دیگری از سایت خود می نویسد که اهدافش عبارتند از:
- جذب افراد، ایده ها، دیدگاه ها و دورنماها برای فردایی سبزتر و فراهم کردن بستری برای گفتگو میان شهروندان پیرامون موضوعات مرتبط با محیط زیست و آب و هوا
- و در آینده ای محتمل فعالیت گروهی و ایده های این افراد ممکن است منجر به توسعه جامعه جهانی بهتر و مناسب تر برای زندگی انسان ها بشود.

تیک تیک تیک کمپینی است برای اثرگذاری بر تصمیم گیران تا برخورد قاطعی در مورد مباحث مرتبط با تغییرات آب و هوا داشته باشند و حرکتی محکمی از خود در طی اجلاس کپنهاگ بروز دهند. عنوان این کمپین اشاره به گذشت زمان و فرصت برای انجام حرکت موثر در مقابله با تغییرات آب و هوا دارد. به اعضای این کمپین توصیه شده است تا از هیچ تلاشی برای متوقف کردن شرایط موجود و وادار کردن سیاستمداران به انجام حرکت های محسوس در زمینه تغییرات آب و هوا خودداری نکنند.

Get Involved

tck tck tck is a campaign created for everybody who wants to make a difference and influence the decision-makers to deal with climate change, and to commit to taking real action at Copenhagen 09.

It points to the clock ticking down - towards the event in Denmark in December, and more generally for the world - because time is running out for the planet and we have to make real changes now, or the consequences of climate change will literally wash many of us away.

The only rule of the tck tck tck campaign is that there are no rules. You can use the logo and campaign messages however you see fit. Put it on a T-Shirt; start a blog; download and pass on the campaign song "Beds 'r Burning" (available in Sept); put the logo on your email footer; write to a politician, or your local newspaper; create leaflets and hand them out on your streets; send a viral video, or get even more creative and make your own film and post it on YouTube. Join us on Twitter, MySpace or Facebook or set your own social media community. The possibilities are endless, limited only by your imagination.

The bottom line is 'Get Involved'. Do it your own way, just as long as you do it. And with millions of others like you joining forces, together we'll create a noise that can't be ignored and make Copenhagen 09 really count.

کمپینی که امروز می خواهم برایتان معرفی کنم به (masspowershift) معروف است. این کمپین مجموعه ای از دانشجویان و شهروندان هستند که در حوزه مقابله با بحران های ناشی از گرم شدن ناگهانی کره زمین فعالیت می کنند. آن قصد دارند تا با ایجاد تحرک در دانشگاه ها، جامعه و دولت زمینه حفاظت بیشتر از اکوسیستم های مرتبط با زندگی را فراهم کنند. یکی از اهداف آن ها تبدیل ماساچوست به یک جامعه برتر در زمینه استفاده از فناوری های غیرمضر برای آب و هوا است.این کمپین در سال 2007 توسط گروهی از دانشجویان ایجاد شده است.  اطلاعات بیشتر در مورد این گروه را می توانید اینجا پیدا کنید.

Massachusetts Power Shift is a group of students and other concerned citizens who are dedicated to protecting humanity from the unprecedented threat of global destabilization as a result of rapid climate disruption.

We work to mobilize our campuses, communities, and state to raise climate change to the top of the political agenda and stimulate state, national, and global changes necessary to protect the ecosystems that sustain life. We seek to make Massachusetts a leader in the transition to a society no longer dependent on climate-destroying practices.

We are primarily students and young professionals from around Massachusetts who work together to advocate for Climate Solutions, Green Jobs, and Green Justice. We support bottom-up community awareness and direct action models, as well as top-down change at the government level necessary to enable strong legislation. Together, we stand and make noise to ensure that this generation charts the path to a just and sustainable future.

همراه با هم (Together.com) یکی دیگر از مجموعه هایی است که با استفاده از پیشنهاد روش های ساده و معرفی محصولات ویژه سعی در جلب همکاری عمومی در مبارزه با تغییرات آب و هوا دارد.  در ذیل به برخی از روش های پیشنهادی این مجموعه اشاره می کنم:

1- عدم استفاده از کیسه های پلاستیکی و کاغذی: سعی کنید وقتی برای خرید مراجعه می کنید با خود کیسه پارچه ای به همراه ببرید.

2- وقتی از ATM استفاده می کنید رسید دریافت نکنید و به جای آن از صفحه نمایش برای مشاهده وضعیت حساب خود استفاده کنید.

3- مدت زمان حمام کردن را کوتاه کنید و مراقب باشید تا آب در هنگام شستشو هدر نرود. خاطرتان باشد که فرآیند تامین آب بسیار انرژی بر است و صرفه جویی در مصرف آب نتایج مضاعفی خواهد داشت.

4-  از لامپ های کم مصرف استفاده کنید.

5- لوازم برقی را بعد از خاموش کردن از برق بکشید. این لوازم برق قابل توجهی را هنگامی که خاموش هستند مصرف می کنند.
