خب. چند خبر از این طرف و آن طرف. اول اینکه سازمان ملل به کشورهای توسعه یادآوری کرد که دوستان زحمت بکشند و به وعده ای که برای کمک به کشورهای در حال توسعه برای مقابله با تغییر اقلیم داده بودند عمل کنند. راستش چند وقت می گشتم که جایی ببینم که احیانا ایران این وسط اوضاعش در چه حال است و هنوز به جایی نرسیده ام. کشورهای جنوب و جنوب شرق آسیا در این زمینه خوب فعالند. در کپنهاگ بنگلادش ادعای پانزده درصد این کمک ها را کرده بود.  مبلغ پیشنهادی حدود ده میلیارد دلار در سال و برای ده سال تا 2020 است.

UN Reminds Donor Countries of Climate Change Pledges

The United Nations has urged donor countries to live up to their commitments in helping developing nations fight climate change, The Associated Press reports.Donor countries pledged to prop up aid from the initial USD10 billion a year to USD100 billion by 2020, but de Boer noted that it is still vague as to how such funds will be pooled by donors.

 دو خبر هم امروز از انگلیس بود. یکی اینکه باور مردم به موضوع تغییرات اقلیمی کاهش یافته است. لینکش را عصر دیدم و الان دم دستم نیست تا برایتان بگذارم. در مورد نتایج نظرسنجی های اخیر در این کشور بود و اینکه مردم دیگر موضوع تغییر اقلیم را جزو دغدغه هایشان به حساب نمی آورند. بهتر بگویم، کمتر به حساب می آورند. این خبر هم در مورد اینکه این کشور برای پذیرش نقش جدی در کاهش انتشار دی اکسید کربن به میزان سی درصد تا پایان 2020 آماده است. دنیای عجیبی است.

Britain is ready to push for a ground-breaking new EU deal to tackle climate change.

The Lib-Con coalition is understood to be broadly supportive of seeking a new European agreement to unilaterally cut carbon dioxide emissions by 30 per cent by 2020. The EU was previously only prepared to commit to such a target if other countries such as America and China increased their effort to fight global warming.

But EU environmental commissioner Connie Hedegaard says the EU must revive international climate change talks, which stalled in Copenhagen in December, by seizing the initiative, not least because the economic downturn has already resulted in unexpected CO2 cuts of about 10 per cent through factor closures and reduced working. The Liberal Democrat manifesto backed increasing the unilateral EU target from 20 per cent CO2 cuts to 30 per cent on 1990 levels - to be achieved within a decade.
